Tropical Dresses for Women
A bright tropical dress is the fastest way to feel like you are on vacation. Our tropical print dresses show pineapples, palm trees, tropical fruit, big leaves, flamingos, seashells and island flowers. The colors are bold and happy: hot pink, lime, jade, turquoise, orange and coral. Each dress is designed in California and printed in clear, rich color.
Prints You Can Spot Across the Room
Pick a pineapple print for a fun day in port. Choose a palm tree print with little elephants for something different. Our tropical fruit prints mix melon, pink and lime, and our tropical florals pair big lilies with leafy shapes. For more pineapple styles, see our Pineapple collection, or shop by color in Tropical and Lime.
Shapes and Fabrics
Most of our tropical dresses are soft cotton knit, 95% Supra Cotton / 5% Spandex. A group of nylon dresses (92% Nylon / 8% Spandex) is smooth and light for travel, and a few French terry dresses add a little warmth for cooler days. Choose slit neck, V-neck, boat neck, polo neck or shirt collar styles, or halter and sleeveless cuts for hot weather. Sizes run X-Small (0-2) to X-Large (16-18).
Where to Wear Them
Tropical dresses are made for beach days, cruise outfits, garden parties and summer lunches. Wear one with flat sandals and a straw tote by day. Add a wedge and simple gold jewelry at night. Want more choices? See all of our resort dresses.
Tropical Dress FAQ
What is a tropical print dress?
It is a dress with a print inspired by warm places: palm trees, big leaves, pineapples, tropical fruit, flowers and sea life, usually in bright, happy colors.
What do I wear with a tropical dress?
Keep the rest simple. Neutral sandals, a plain tote and small jewelry let the print stand out. Add a solid scarf or light layer for cool evenings.
Are tropical dresses right for women over 50?
Yes. A bright print draws the eye, and our easy shapes skim the body instead of clinging. Choose 3/4 or elbow sleeves when you want more coverage.
How do I care for a cotton knit dress?
Wash in cool water, then air dry or machine dry on low heat. Hot water and high heat can cause cotton to shrink and fade.
